The Real Berlin Marathon 2008 · 28 September 2008 ·

The National Blind Children's Society recently changed its name to Blind Children UK and is now part of the Guide Dogs family. At Blind Children UK our mission is to enable children and young people, who are blind and partially sighted to achieve their educational and recreational goals.

Story

Hello.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As you probably already know, I am going to run the Berlin Marathon on the 28th September 2008. I estimate that it is going to take me about 4 hours...that's 240 minutes of painstakingly tedious running!

I have 2 objectives:

1) Raise £1,000 for the National Blind Childrens Society

2) Complete the marathon in under 4 hours

Unfortunately you cannot help me with the second objective as that will be down to the 6 month intensive training I am about to begin! But you can certainly help with my first objective and help the NBCS in the five key services they provide to blind and partially sighted children and their families:

- Family Support & Information
- CustomEyes Books
- Specialist Equipment
- Educational Advocacy
- Recreational Activities

To learn more about what the NBCS does, please follow this link: www.nbcs.org.uk

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Blind Childrens Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

No donation is too small (unless it is under £2!) so please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Sam
