Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Take Heart focuses on training handicapped and blind students in India with vocational employment skills. We support practical education projects as a means to give people the skills needs to gain employment or start a company. We believe ‘Work builds, charity destroys’.

Story

Dear all,

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As I may have let slip to a small minority of you, I decided to enter the ballot for this year's Flora London Marathon, believing that there wasn't a chance I'd ever get selected.  Almost a year on, sure enough, I'm putting the final touches to my training...

I am running the marathon on 26th April in aid of Take Heart, and would be extremely grateful for any contribution you are able to make towards this worthy cause.  Take Heart is a charity run by a very good university friend of mine, Lucian Tarnowski.  Based in India, Take Heart provides practical education and employment skills to physically handicapped and blind young people, enabling them to be self-supporting and integrate back into society.  Its primary aim is to help people regain their sense of dignity and self-worth in life.

More information on Take Heart can be found at www.TakeHeartIndia.org.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Take Heart Limited gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you very much for any contribution you are able to make.

Sam
