UPDATE: WE FINISHED IT !!!! YIPPEEEE

Well what a day, our day began ok until we tried to get off of the M25 and the junction was closed due to a bad accident so we had to go miles around the M25 to the next stop but we made it into Canary Whalf and onto the train. The minute we walked out of the train station the rain began, not a great start. We dropped our kit bags off at the lories and made our way to the start and then we were off................at approx 10:10 we started ! At about 3 miles Lewis went off ahead and Sam and I continued at our normal pace, with a quick pop into McDonals for a Toliet stop we were doing ok. At 4 Miles Sam's foot started to hurt but she thought maybe it was her sock rubbing so we stopped for her to readjust it and then we continued......however by 10 miles she was in pain ! Around the same time Sam stopped Lewis and the 3 of us join back up. The next 9 miles were a struggly however we were finding amusing things to talk about on route and were generally being our normal silly selfs. Everytime we stopped at St John's amberlance so Sam could get an ice pack for her foot, lewis had to have a leg massage, his reason was because he was doing a survey as to who gives the best massage and they all fell for this story ! 19 - 21 weren't too bad however by the time we reached 22 we could see the pain Sam was in but she continued, we ran/walked our way through 23 - 25 and then the running started again and can confirm that Sam was definatley at her happiest when we turned the final cornor of mile 26 and the finish line was in sight. Lewis had gone ahead so was first to cross the finish after 6 hours 10 minutes, followed by Sam and me who came in at 6 hours 11 minutes.

It was a truely amazing day, the amount of people that turned out for it was unreal and for me this years experience of running with 2 of my closest friends is a memory that will live with me forever. We saw Rino's, Mr Men, Telephones, Army Soldiers, War hero's, Lion's and thousands of other brilliant fancy dress costums today and can all be proud to say that we were part of the First Virgin London Marathon 2010 !

Now all we have to do is hit our target so if you haven already then please sponsor us, every little helps and after what we all went through today I think we all deserve your pledges !

Sam and Lewis I would like to thank you for them bottom of my heart for running today and for all your hard work as you know this was for my niece's charity so means so much to me and my family.  Plus running with you guys was so good and made the day 1000 times better than last year ! x x

UPDATE:OH MY GOD ITS MARATHON DAYYYYY !!!!!!!!

Well Sam, Lewis and Jo all made it back despite of the Volcano madness that affected the world. There is no turning back now this so this is my Final update prior to the 26.2 miles we will be running today. We start at 9:45 in Greenwich Park so if you free today get your bums up and off the sofa and into London. It is going to be an amazing day as the weather is meant to be in the 20's.

We are all trained so hard you support today would be welcomed and when you see people you know it makes the day even better. Our running numbers are:

Jo - 34307

Sam - 34308

Lewis - 34309

Please get sponsoring we are over half way now and the last week we have brought in a great amount but we still need more, so no time like the present to pledge.

Finally I would like to say a big thank you to Sam, Lewis and Matt for all there hard training over the last 5 months and for doing this today for my niece's charity this really means the world to me

Thank you x

Now that we are in our final week of training our focus is changing on getting the sponsorship money in, so I beg you all to please dust off the credit or debit cards and start pludging some money. Every £ helps. Its for a great charity and after all the months of hard training it will be well worth it.

Our vests have arrived and look great apart from lewis's which we are in the process of sorting out else he is going to end up chaffing to bits. Lewis, Matt and Sam all have their new trainers (all a size too big) and are now looking forward to getting this marathon over and done with so we can return to normal life. The training has been hard and is so time consuming but the light is at the end of the tunnel (nearly).

The final preperations will start next week, names printed on our vest, toes nails will be cut right back and we will all be homeward bound Thursday/Friday.

So this is most probably my final update until the big day so please please please donate now :-)

The last 2 weeks have been very hectic, Sam was training while away in New York and Vegas while the rest of Team Dubai (Jo, Matt & Lewis) continued to run in sandpit ! Jo found it hard without Sam for the week but got back into running with her ipod so that helped. We have increased to 6 days a week and the runs are getting longer but we are all coping really well. The boys are still football training on a Wednesday so have to fit the runs in before training where as Sam and Jo are still dragging themselves out of bed in the mornings to get the runs over and done with before work. As for sponsorship we have slowed up and need to put the pressure on as our target of 4000 GBP looks harder to achieve than the marathon at this stage, so please sponsor us. All this pain has to be worth it and ASSERT is an amazing charity that helps people less fortune than us. Every little helps and JustGiving is so easy so why wait make your donation today................x

It has been a amazing 3 weeks of training since the last update, we have all completed our hour plus run which made us all learn about muscles we didnt know we had. We now increase our training from 5 days a week to 6 so its starting to get tough. Sam and Matt have both purchased stop watches so we are keeping to the set times per run and our routes are getting easier to work out. Sponsorship is also coming along good were over ur first 1000 GBP but we still have a long way to go so please get sponsoring. For our Dubai freinds we can take cash, your message and load it onto here if that is easier for you.

Breaking news The Three Amigos has a new runner so we are now the Crazy Quad !! Sam's brother Matthew had been training with Sam and when ASSERT emailed us letting us know they had another 2 spaces Matt steped up to the challenge. So our target has increased to 4000 GBP (1000 each) so we need your money even more now !!!! Please sponsor us, it is for an amazing charity and we are all training hard......

As the end of 2009 approached a moment of madness hit Dubai when Samantha agreed to take part in the London Marathon 2010, it took some heavily persuading on Jo's side but she finally crumbled !!! The all we had to do was find a charity which was easier said than done. We approached ASSERT (Angelman Syndrome Support Education and Research Trust) as Jo's niece has Angelman's who advised us they had been inundated with runners and that we would be picked out and notified in a couple of weeks !

On Wednesday 6th Jan 2010 the great news arrived.......................well not that great to Sam who nearly had a heart attack but we were in !!!! As if that was not a big enough shock to our systems then Lewis decided he also wanted to be part of our madness, so it was back to ASSERT to try and get another place. On Monday 11th Jan 2010 they confirmed Lewis was also in, so the Terrible Two became The Three Amigos !!!

The Training has started so now all we need is your money, we have to hit the 3000 GBP (1000 each) so that we can take part.
