It provides essential welfare, speaks out on behalf of all refugees, challenges the negative attitudes that affect refugees’ lives and seeks to change the policies that push refugees to the margins of society.

My story

Dear all,

I am competing in the London Marathon on 26th April 2009 with Iain Robertson, and am aiming to raise at least £2000 for the Refugee Council.

This is a very worthy cause helping to give the thousands of people arriving in this country each year the support and advice they need to settle and contribute to our communities. This can be an up-hill battle with all the stereotypes and myths peddled out through certain media outlets, but with your help they can change this and make a huge difference to the lives of many scared and desperate people.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Refugee Council gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now, any amount will help make a real difference (But the bigger the better!)
