Hi!
Thank you so much for visiting the page for Sam's Three Peaks Challenge!
The target is to raise as much money as possible for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at The University Hospital North Staffordshire.
During November 2008 5 month old Sam Richards, son of fellow organiser Simon Dodds & Emma Richards, became seriously ill with a condition called a 'Double Aortic Arch', where an artery that should have disolved before birth remained and compressed his windpipe. Sam was born with the condition but was only discovered when Sam caught a cold which restricted his breathing and caused him to be critically ill.
It is thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit that Sam was stabalised and survived to get to surgery to fix the problem.
Therefore in order to raise money to say thank you for their efforts, we are participating in the 3 Peaks Challenge by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours, in a multi-organisation team effort.
On 20th-21st June, Simon Dodds (Of DC Care and Dad of Sam), and Alasdair Lowe (Of Worcester Rugby Football Club and GVA Grimley ) will be doing the climb with:
John Behan, Gemma Field and Helen Fielding of GVA Grimley
Trevor Prout, Luke Sheppard and Jon Woollard of Worcester Rugby Football Club.
Special thanks also go to Maria Bell, Phil Parry, Tim Edwards, Tony Oriel, Jamie Eaton and Micheal Behan who are coming into the challenge from outside.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
If you’re a UK taxpayer, don't forget GiftAid so 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Get the taxman to give money too!!!
So please sponsor us now! It's a huge target, but I know with the great support of everyone, we can achieve it!
