Thanks to you all for your donations, and messages of support. x
To all our kind friends and colleagues who have sponsored Samuel's epic bike ride..we have had to postpone for a few weeks. My poor dear mum is terribly ill and as she has held my hand throughout my life, I need to be there to hold hers in her remaining days. The boys are dreadfully disappointed but are training hard and looking forward to unveiling more lycra! We will be doing it at half term..not long to wait. Please bear with us and thank you for all your support. Claire Smith (Samuel's mum - the back up team)
Hello, my name is Samuel Smith, and I am a pupil at Wellington School. At Easter, I will try and enter the record books by becoming the youngest person ever to attempt the gruelling cycle ride from London to Paris. I am a keen cyclist and rugby player, and I will be doing the ride to raise money for the charity that supports my younger disabled brother. Sebastian, 8, has a rare genetic condition – Rubenstein-Taybi Syndrome, which results in severe learning difficulties and other associated disabilities.
I will be cycling with my dad, and my mum and two younger brothers will the back-up team. We aim to complete the ride within 4 days doing about 50-60 miles per day. It is a very exciting prospect and will be for an excellent cause. Sebastian is adorable and this will raise awareness of Rubinstein Taybi syndrome. The Rubenstein Taybi Support Group helps peoople with the condition and offers help to their families
