Story

Kagyu Samye Dzong London is a branch of Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland, a Buddhist Centre which was established in 1967 and now has branches worldwide. Kagyu Samye Dzong London is under the direct guidance of Dr. Akong Tulku Rinpoche and Ven.Lama Yeshe Losal, whose lives and activity are an endless source of inspiration for the thousands of people who come into contact with them every year.

Kagyu Samye Dzong London opened in April 1998, and has since then been growing steadily, with an increasing number of people visiting regularly. The centre aims to provide a place of peace and tranquillity in the heart of the city, with the shrine room available for individuals to come and sit during the day. The main function of the centre is to be a place of meditation, introducing the many skillful means of the Kagyu tradition.

The owner of the Kagyu Samye Dzong premises has decided to sell this property in one year’s time, that is, by July 2004. The centre are trying to raise money for a new building in London. More information about the appeal can be found at
