Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After a year away from fundraising, I'm going to make 2011 count. So far this year I've done the Loony Dook at South Queensferry on New Year's Day (it was cold) and Ben Nevis in April (it was high).

Next up is the main event, the Berlin marathon in September.  After 8 months of persistent injury keeping me off running - or pretty much any exercise for that matter (the extra blubber was helpful for the Loony Dook, to be fair) - it's going to be very tough to get fit enough to complete another marathon but I'm giving it my best shot.

The Sick Kids is a fantastic cause, I know so many people they've helped. The money I raise will be directed to Ward 1, where my wife works and my niece has had treatment over the years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

We aim to support every baby, child, young person and family that visits Edinburgh's children's hospital by providing daily activities, ward-based youth work, a family support service, hospital shop, and by funding life-changing medical equipment and ground breaking research.
