As you all know I lost my first baby Thomas at full term, it was the most devastating time of Stephen and my lives. There was nothing wrong throughout my pregnancy and nothing wrong with Thomas so it was a huge shock to loose our baby right at the end of my pregnancy. I had heard about stillbirth before I lost but didn't realise that it happened so often, nor to people like me who are healthy and look after themselves throughout pregnancy.
We had a lot of support from family, friends and also Surrey Sands. Whilst I have been lucky enough to have two further sons there are many more families going through the same pain we did all those years ago.
I have continued to work with Surrey Sands and would love to raise some money to help develop a beautiful memorial garden at Epsom so that families have a peaceful place to remember their baby. A new memorial garden is being developed for this purpose and I would like to think it will give some other families some comfort in their darkest days.
