Story

Jordan was born with CGD a rare life threatening genetic condition which can affect 8-10 people in a million. Jordan was born with a faulty gene in his bone marrow, so his white blood cells could not fight simple infections as they should. This meant simple infections could quickly become a life threatening condition, and so he had to take powerful antibiotics and antifungals everyday from when he was diagnosed.

Jordan was a beautiful, gracious and polite person who always had a very positive attitude towards life and would always muster a smile for others even if he was in pain.He had a mischeivous sense of houmour and a beautiful smile, but he is remembered most for his incredible strength, determination and above all his incredible bravery inspite of everything. Jordan sadly passed away in January this year aged twelve. His brother and I are marking the anniversary of what would have been his 13th Birthday (19th June) with this race.

We are raising funds in his memory for the CGD Trust who try to create a better quality of life for those living with CGD through support services for the families and through funding a specialist nurse for those affected.
