Himalayan Trek to Nepal & Volunteering Project · 1 August 2010

Moving Mountains is a progressive charity with over 20 years experience, run by teams who are highly experienced in the development sector. We fund social welfare, educational and health projects in Nepal and East Africa, where we have set up our own NGOs.

Story

Hey, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In August 2010 I’m hoping to head to Nepal to trek through valleys in the Himalayan foothills to reach remote Nepalese villages supporting the brilliant charity ‘Moving Mountains’ with Bristol RAG. Moving Mountains (http://www.movingmountains.org.uk/)is a charity working mainly in Kenya and Nepal, supporting street children and their families by providing education, health and welfare. Moving Mountains is focused on long-term sustainable projects, building orphanages, schools, hospitals and providing much-needed employment and income for a wide range of people caught in the poverty trap.

I'll be volunteering for a project connecting village houses to a new water system, putting in taps & piping to turn on their water supply. I’m also going to run an on-site dental clinic, to provide basic dental care to villagers all ages, who have had little or no access to health care.

In order to be able to volunteer in Nepal Im fundraising to reach a large target by May 2010 & I'd appreciate any help, however small, towards my it to support this hugely worthwhile effort.

The best bit is that I’ll be able to see exactly where my fundraising efforts have gone, as all of them will only support Moving Mountains to fund the project, not any travel expenses for my trip.

Please dig deep & donate now. Thanks so much,

Sara x
