My story
Hi Everyone!
Julie and Sara are running the Brathay Lake Windermere Marathon to raise money for The Retreat Animal Rescue Centre.
The Retreat, based in Northwest Kent, is entirely voluntary and a not-for-profit organisation. All funds raised go to the welfare of the animals that come into the Retreat's care and where possible animals are re-homed in permanent, loving homes.
The money raised will go toward building new "hospital" area for sick animals, extending the dog yard so the animals have more freedom, gravelling the feeding area and many other things.
We visited the centre recently and so we can confirm first hand that this is a really deserving cause run by dedicated, hard working volunteers.

This retreat has already made a huge difference to so many animals over the years. Animals that have had no hope left in this world be it through injury, maltreatment or other tragic circumstances. We are both delighted to have the opportunity to run our butts off for 26.2 miles around Lake Windermere this May (honestly 
!!) in order to raise as much dosh as we can to assist this Retreat with its amazing work.
