St Catherine's Hospice (Crawley) - Midnight Walk · 19 June 2010 ·

We’re there for people in Sussex and East Surrey, with expert hospice care, when and where they need us most. Our care is only possible thanks to the generosity of our local community who donate to and volunteer with us. Community support means we’re there when life comes full circle.

Story

I have decided to walk 13 miles in the middle of the night with my friend Louise, for my beautiful courageous sister, Jacqui. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36, underwent gruelling treatment, always with a smile on her face and the determination like so many others to beat this hideous disease.

On the 19th April she died leaving a huge hole in my family's hearts.

Those last few days were made easier by the nurses and staff at St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley without whose kindness and nursing skills we would have found it very difficult to cope.

No one knows when they may need the help of a hospice and it is essential they remain part of our community. So dig deep and help me raise some money so they can continue to provide the support for others, who find themselves in the same situation as my family and of course my sister - Jacqui
