Sarah & Amy's challenge · 5 March 2014

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

As many of you reading this will know, my youngest sister Deb was diagnosed with myeloma in 2009 and it turned her life upside down. However, after high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant in 2011, she has been lucky enough to see over 2 years of remission so far. It is crucial that research is undertaken so that this cancer at the very least becomes a chronic condition rather than an incurable condition.

We wanted to support Deb in her “40 challenges before 40” so decided we would each give up something which would be a personal challenge for us. (Anyone who knows me knows I love cake!) During Lent 2014 I will be giving up all sugar and anything with added sugar (though I will eat fruit) Our daughter Amy is giving up all dairy.

We hope you'll consider donating something towards our challenge- every little helps!
