Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I decided that I would try and get fit in 2009 but given my past attempts I found it way too easy to just put off that trip to the gym or session in the pool!  In order to stick to my plan of getting fit and in an obvious moment of madness I signed up to COMPETE IN THE GREAT NORTH SWIM!

The Great North Swim is a mile long open water swim, is a mass participation event...and will be freezing!

I now have no choice but to train and get fit otherwise my goal of completing the swim in a respectable time will be ruined! Plus I don't want to get half way into the event and drown because im not fit enough to make it back!

As some additional motivation (as if drowining wasn't enough!) I decided to swim on behalf of the charity 'HospiceCare North Northumberland'.  This charity is such a worthwhile cause as it provides much needed care to people with progressive and life limiting diseases such as Cancer and MND. 

This charity is not only essential to those who live in the North Northmberland area but to those who have friends and family in the area.
