Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As you will probably know, my husband Americo (Am) died in April last year, the day after I completed the London Marathon.  He was diagnosed with diabetes around 10 years ago and this year I wanted to raise money for Diabetes UK, so I set myself a year of challenges - a marathon or ultra marathon per month for 12 months. AND NOW I'VE DONE THEM ALL! that is, Loch Ness Marathon; Beachy Head Marathon; The Druid Ridgeway Challenge (82 miles in 3 days); The Doyen of the Downs (30 miles); Country to Capital (45 miles); the Pilgrim Challenge (66 miles in 2 days along the North Downs Way); Brighton Trail Marathon; London Marathon; Three Forts Marathon; the Lairig Ghru race in the Cairngorms; the "50 mile challenge" in Kent; The Downland 30 mile challenge - and on 5th September, I completed the London to Brighton Trail run. It took me 15 hours as I got very lost, so I did not come in before the cut-off time - still, I know I did it and so does my wonderful daughter Maria, who accompanied me where possible by bike.  Without her help I would not have completed it. Thank you so much, to everyone who has donated and helped me to complete my challenge.
