Even though it is my sworn intent never, ever to go on a boat again in my life - I'm doing a 10km run for the RNLI.   I can't get over the fact that 90% of the volunteers in the lifeboat crew are not from a maritime background - and yet they volunteer to save others in peril at sea.  Personally, I volunteer to sit on the quay and eat chips. 

Please dig deep and sponsor me - the RNLI's lifeboat service is funded entirely by voluntary donations - and one day you may need them, even if I never will !
