The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

Hello! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m doing something really daft – and I need your help.

Four years ago I damaged my ankle quite badly in the tsunami. I was left with a hole in my foot where the muscle, tissue and cartilage never grew back and minimal flexibility. I’ve been having physiotherapy and now that my foot is almost flexible enough to go ‘uphill’ I thought what better way to celebrate than to climb up a really big hill!

Please help me raise money for the Mental Health Foundation by sponsoring me to climb on 16 October 2009.

1 in 4 of us will experience some kind of mental health illness in our lives. My hand goes up! After my experience I suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Some of the money I’m hoping to raise will go towards tackling the stigma attached to mental illness as well as looking after those who need help.

It’s a stressful ol’ world and we need to look after our mental well being.

Thanks for your support!

PS As well as my ankle collapsing every few steps, I also suffer from
vertigo. In fact, the thought of being on the mountain and looking down
is making me feel physically sick right now!
