My personal message:

Hello, Thanks for looking in on my fundraising page, hope you can sponsor me….

I will be running in memory of my sister Jane who had a brain tumour & stayed at the Hospice & passed away in March ‘07 aged 43. Also in my thoughts will be Marion, my brother in laws mother who passed away in Oct ‘07 after a short illness. Marion was able to use the Hospice at home facility. But I am sure most of us know someone who has stayed at the Hospice.

So far I have raised enough for lots of things:
Keep the Hospice at home service running for 44 hours, it costs £31.00 ph approx to run. It provides palliative & terminal care for patients in their own home, to pass away in familier surroundings & with dignity, this is what I am most passionate about, what more could anyone ask for &  deserve more than that.
Or  Headstart, a free service for women who have experienced hair loss due to treatment, the day therapy unit, the hairdressers, refurbishment projects, & many more.

I hope you are able to dig deep & sponsor me, & thank you Warm & kind regards Sarah x

(If you knew either Jane or Marion plse feel free to mention in your message or anyone else you may wish to mention)

Sat 2nd Feb 07 & Sun 3rd Feb
Went to London for the Marathon training seminar, boy I have a long way to go, but I am determined. Sunday, terrible run, face wind, icy cold. Thought after Sat's pep talk all would be peachy. Just goes to show, you just can't imagine the effort it  is taking me & I am loving every minute of it!

Thurs 21 Feb - I have a 10 miler race on Sun 2nd March in Wymondham & I am just about there with my training. Looking for a half Marathon to get in before April!!

Sunday 2 March - I did it, I completed the Wymondham Spring 10 Miler today!! in just over 2 hrs which is a real achievement for me. It has given me a feel for what I can do & how much harder I still need to train......I am very pleased though as it was a very windy today & it is quite an open course & I don't run well in windy weather.

Tues 18 March -  Went to London with a good friend Sun to look out the start & how to get there, time etc. Found out last week I have been sponsored by Tindall's the Stationer's & they have agreed for me to do some fundraising in their Cambridge Branch in King St & they will hold a sponsor form for me too. I meet the branch Manager Janet today & had my picture taken for the Cambridge Evening News outside being presented with the cheque. I have had a desk top sale at work too, all to raise sponsorship. My running is going well but upping my mileage has not been easy, I don't know where I am getting the will to do it, but it's coming from somewhere.

Sat 22 March & Sun 23 March -  Me & my friend Karen stood in Tindall's Cambridge fund raising on Sat. It was a worthwhile day & Tindall's staff were so very helpful in setting me up in store. I  ran the Joe Cox half marathon Sunday 23rd in just under 3 hours. It was a terrible day as you know with the very heavy snow fall first thing & made the first half very dificult as it was slippey & with driving snow in my face. 140 runners who entered did not make it, I must admit it was very tempting not to run, but I knew I needed to do this race & continue with my training schedule. I am very proud of myself today  & couldn't of done it with out the support of my partner & friend (who kindly drove me) & got my first medal. It has helped me get a feel for what pace etc I need to do for the marathon.

Sat  5 April - A BIG thank you to all who have helped me keep heading towards my target. Me & my neighbout went round Brinkley Village last Sat & had a fantastic responce. We hope to finish off today or tomorrow. I am just off out on my bike for some training that is not harsh on my joints etc as you are supposed to be winding down just before the marathon.  I am VERY nervous, I am so determined but it is going to be a HUGE task for me despite all the work I have put in.....Please keep on sponsoring me for the Hospice at Home  XX

Weds 9th April - Went & collected my number, 40571, & timer chip for my trainer (to get my time) today from the Excel in London. My god it's nearly here & it's happening.............................

Mon 14 April - I have done it, I have run the London Marathon!! I am very pleased. I was making excellent time, until mile 14. I stopped for the loo & the ques to all the loos were horrendous, I waited 25 mins!!! After 10 mins I got to the point where I thought as I had waited so long I would only have to start again at the next lot, waiting that long it is very easy for your muscles to cool down & stiffen up After all the advice I received on everthing else no one gave me any loo advice!!. Next time (if there is a next time!!!!) I will be wiser. However, on a very positive note I was delighted to finish & looks like I am going to make my target or near enough, still some work for me to do there. I am a bit stiff today & not to bad, better than I thought I would be.

BIG thank you to you all for everyone who has helped out with sponsorship collecting & txts & emails of support. Sarah xx
