Edinburgh Marathon 2008 · 25 May 2008 ·

The Green Belt Movement (GBM) was founded by Wangari Maathai in 1977. It uses tree planting as an entry point for communities to take action on issues of land rights, environment and livelihoods. GBM works on climate change policy on forests on behalf of rural communities internationally.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm running the Edinburgh marathon on 25th May 2008 (a very scary thought at the moment).

I am aware that I will be raising money later in the summer for another challenge, so I don't want to be harassing people all the time to give me money, but.....

If you would like to sponsor me for the marathon then that would be great (maybe only donate half what you were planning now and half later in the summer!). Have a look at The Green Belt Movement website, they do some really amazing work, and so I would love to be able to raise some money for them (however much).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Green Belt Movement International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
