Why it's important that you sponsor me
More than 6 years ago I visited for the first time & immediately fell in love with her beauty, her friendly people, their incredible pride in their country & culture...& so many more reasons - that's right, it wasn't just the Colombian men that caught my eye ;)....
I was lucky enough to visit again a couple of years later & infact, I liked it so much, that 4 years after my first trip, I came to live here permantly with my "half" colombian daughter, Bella.
We have an amazing life.  has so much to offer. It is not the many of you have in your minds.
But.....
We cannot ignore the huge amount of problems like:
the violence
the drugs
the poverty
Colombia changed my life in a such a positive way, now we can do something to change the lives of the Colombian people that really need our help.

Why we are helping the children

Every day;
800 children are orphaned by violence
2 are kidnapped
6 commit suicide
50 Become involved in Guerilla warfare
over 3000 are assaulted
and children are abandoned to live on the streets
...by sponsoring a child, you will change their life FOREVER

How we can make a difference
You can sponsor me to undertake a variety of challenges...starting with a 70 meter descent down a waterfall, Oct 24th 09.  After a 1 hour grueling climb through the jungle, I will reach the summit of the Juan Curi waterfall, near San Gil, , & begin my slow & steady abseil back down to the ground!  It is one of the most challenging abseils not only because of the height but also due to the force of the water & the steep incline of the rocks.....I will be taking it very slowly....:)

Your sponsorship will ensure our "adopted" child Keren Paola (whose dream is to become a doctor), receives education, school uniform, healthy food & medical care...for at least 1 year!! I really need your help to reach my £200 target to be able to do this.

I will also let you know about future events which will include fundraising for Colombia Childcare to support their children's sports academy, building wells, providing homes & new businesses...their work is really wonderful.

All our fundraising contributes to projects that ensure these people receive the necessary skills & support to help themselves...in this way we are working to make a better future for Colombia...one that involves real change & real ults.
