**Update**
We completed the swim last night and clocked in some respectable times, under the 2 hours we had wanted so we are thrilled.
James 1hr 54m
Sarah 1hr 40m
Thank you for all of your continued support and sponsorship it is greatly apprecaited!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Sadly I am unable to compete in the annual Wilmslow Half Marathon this year and James can not run anyway, but alas we will be taking to the pool instead - something which I haven't done for a long time and James is cursing me for suggesting! (Notice how Andrew and Fran are sitting this one out, typical!)
We will both be attempting to swim 5km (200 lengths) on 16 April in order to help raise money for the Christopher Clarke Cancer Research Fund.
We are aiming to complete the swim in under 2 hours, so to alleviate some of our innevitable pain, inspire us and more importantly to help the CCCRF, please sponsor us generously and we might just get there!
The CCCRF aims to raise awareness of and fund research into the causes and treatment of brain tumours specifically in young people. It is in memory of two young men (Christopher and Ross) who died too young from aggresive brain tumours.
As I am sure most of you know, this is a charity that is very close to our hearts given that Ross was our housemate and exceedingly close friend, and the monies raised are helping to fund a specific research post into this terrible cancer, its causes and treatments, at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, one of the foremost Cancer research centers in Europe.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christopher Clarke Cancer Research Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much in advance of anything you are able to sponsor us no matter how much, it is all very much appreciated.
Sarah + James
