Hi,
Thanks for dropping by. This year has seen me qualify for something other than Eastcote Hockey Vets team... because I work in the city for more than 3 days a week and for longer than 3 months I qualify for the city 5k run - I am privileged :)
This year the chosen charity is breakthrough breast cancer and as we all get older it's a real tragedy that more and more of us know someone who has died or coping to live with cancer. We can't ignore it and unfortunately we have to learn to live with it and continue to raise money for charities that help those early enough to beat it.
I don't very often do this sort of thing and therefore it's more than likely I have never asked you for money other than to split the bill over dinner ;) And if you do this sort of thing then it is highly likely that I have sponsored you.
Don't go out for dinner for one week, or just don't order that last round of drinks, or for some of you just go for the cheaper option on your last bottle of wine, you will never tell the difference at that stage from a £50 to a £16 bottle. Sponsor me instead for a few quid .
My target is £444 because 4 is my lucky number, I play in it, I grew up at number 4s and £4 or £44 would have been a little tight for a target and £4,444 a little out of reach so it's £444. In my head I know if I reach this magic number my Nan who has been battling with cancer for the past 2 years with great dignity and strength will live to 104!
Go on and make a difference and sponsor me - you will certainly see the difference in terms of a lesser hang-over or weight lost for not splashing out on that heavy dinner or bottle of wine :)
