Story
On 23 April 2006 I will line up on the start line of the Flora London Marathon to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society, a cause very close to my heart - and in view of the 320 mile trek across the Arctic that I am embarking on a year later, this definitely seems like a sensible place to start!
The Alzheimer’s Society is the ’s leading dementia care and research charity for people with dementia, their carers and families. With over 700,000 people suffering from dementia, half of whom have Alzheimer’s Disease, the Society provides information and support services, research into cause, cure and care whilst providing caring grants for people with dementia and their carers.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
All donations are gratefully received - please sponsor me now!
Thank you for your support.

Update: 2 May 2006. Two weeks later.....
I have been overwhelmed by the support that I have received over the past couple of months. Thank you so much to everybody who has sponsored me and to those who braved the elements and lined the streets in support....!
Despite much apprehension, and geniune concern about my 'ad hoc' training schedule, the red wine and hockey/ running combination clearly paid off - 3 hours 44 minutes and not one blister to boast...not bad for a first attempt...!?
Thank you once again.....!xx
