As you may have heard I am attempting to run  the London Marathon this year! 

I have been lucky enough to secure one of the Golden Bond charity places from St Peter and St James Hospice.

18 months ago a very close friend of ours was diagnosed with a brain tumour and sadly he died in December 2007. St Peter and St James Hospice cared for Chris and supported his family. Having spent many evenings at the hospice myself during this time it was clear to see what a special place it is. The care, love and support given by the staff enabled Chris's family and friends to spend some quality time together at what was an extremely difficult and sad time.

The Hospice is only partly funded by the government and has to raise £1.2 Million a year through fundraising ! My aim was to raise £3600 which is what it costs to fund the hospice for one day to deliver specialist care to many people. As you can see I have already reached this target and now want to try and raise some more money towards a second day!!!

 I would like to think that by running this marathon and raising in excess of £3600 that it would enable other people and their families to be cared for at this very special place.
