Story

On Saturday 12th September, mum and I will be partaking in Tough Mudder 2015!!

For those of you who are unsure of what this entails, Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. This includes obstacles such as “Ring of Fire”, “Cage Crawl” and the aptly named “Electroshock Therapy”.

There is an amusing video here of someone taking part… This may help you feel more sorry for us so please do take a look!!

This will be a challenge physically and mentally and will push us to our absolute limits.

As a team, we have decided to raise money for a charity that is close to our hearts; CALM. For those unaware of this charity, I have included some details below.

We have created this page in hope to help raise both funds and support for this charity. Any donations towards our challenge would be greatly appreciated, however if you cannot donate, we would really appreciate it if you could spend a few minutes reading about CALM and the fantastic work that they do.

Please send us all your good luck vibes!

Much Love!!

CALM (THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST LIVING MISERABLY)

CALM exists to prevent male suicide in the UK. In 2013, male suicide accounted for 78% of all suicides and is the single biggest cause of death in men aged 20 – 45 in the UK.

CALM seek to prevent male suicide by:

Offering support to men in the UK, of any age, who are down or in crisis via our helpline and website.

Challenging a culture that prevents men seeking help when they need it, see www.yearofthemale.com

Pushing for changes in policy and practice so that suicide is better prevented via partnerships such as The Alliance of Suicide Prevention Charities (TASC), the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA).

CALM also hosts the Suicide Bereavement Support Partnership (SBSP), which includes Cruse, If U Care Share, Papyrus, SoBS and the Samaritans amongst others. This partnership aims to ensure that everyone bereaved or affected by suicide is offered and receives timely and appropriate support. Its members are working collaboratively to ensure this vision becomes a reality.
