I was lucky enough (?!) to win a place in the 2008 marathon. But 3 weeks before the race, after my longest run, I picked up an injury and had to pull out.  I deferred my entry and I'm in training again and almost there!

 

Last year I was a volunteer for Brent Mind (Mental Health Charity) a 'befreinder' and a helper at the drop-in centre.  Mental Health issues have a serious impact on individuals, families and society.  One in four people will suffer a mental health problem at some point in their life.  This can range from depression to (the misunderstood) schizophrenia.  Brent Mind offers services for mental health patients in the community - from offering advice to providing drop-in centres.  Their funding is being reduced and, as a result, I would like my sponsorship to go to this charity.  For further information visit www.brentmind.com.

 

The training has been challenging!  The body is not designed for this!! Therefore I promise that this is my first and LAST marathon. (Therefore your only chance to sponsor me to do a marathon!)
