For years I have harboured an ambition to run a marathon and had hoped to do this before I hit the ripe old age of 30.  Having missed this deadline I found myself with a place in this year's London Marathon and have been launched into a world of trainers and running diaries!

I am now faced with my biggest challenge to date and approach the marathon with a mixture of apprehension and excitement.  The creation of my fundraising page makes the experience official and it is no longer an ambition but a fast approaching reality.

I have chosen to raise money for The Friends of Kadzinuni, a charity with close family links.  It is a worthwhile cause that makes a real difference to the lives of people living in and around the Kenyan village of Kadzinuni.  Since this charity was established the local Primary School has been developed and completely transformed and a new clinic is a thriving success allowing local people vital health care.  Further funds will contribute to the continued success of these and other projects including fresh water and electricity supplies.
