Well everyone! I've finally flipped and will be taking part in this year's London Marathon on Sunday 13th April 2008. I've worked in maternity care in the UK for nearly 25 years and will be running for Maternity Worldwide, a charity that works to make childbirth safer for women in developing countries where one woman in sixteen may die of pregnancy-related complications compared to one in 2,800 in developed countries. More information about this global problem and the work of Maternity Worldwide can be found on their web-site www.maternityworldwide.org Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Maternity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep to help me achieve my target. You might not know it but the average cost of a delivery by a trained professional in a hospital in Ethiopia is only £15.00.
Many thanks also for all your support and encouragement which will keep me going through the long cold training runs and the odd crisis in confidence!! Sara XX
