We promote research into brain tumours to close the funding gap for brain tumours

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year my husband Mike and I will be running the Bupa Great North Run to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign.

As many of my family and friends are aware, I lost my father to a Brain Tumour whilst he was in his early forties which is not a long distance from where we are now.

Brain tumours affect children and adults alike, but research worldwide is under-funded and there is a lack of awareness of the magnitude of the problem. There is a great need for a better understanding of what causes them, how the brain reacts to them and how they behave - and an even greater need for better and more effective treatments.

BTRC promise and the benefits of your donation

We promise that - unlike many charities today - none of the money raised will be spent on administration - 100% of funds raised will go to research projects, which means patients, families & collaborating Trusts will all benefit from your kindness & generosity

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

BTRC works with a Neurosciences team at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals (Imperial College London) to promote research into the causes of brain tumours and possible new treatments, to raise public awareness of the desperate need for this research and the current lack of funding.
