My story

 

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

Only 32 days to go until April 26th , 2009, when my good friend Julie and I will be running the London Marathon together.  I have been accepted as a member of team YMCA of England, and I am almost to my fundraising target , recently raised, above.  As a physician who believes strongly in promoting physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, the YMCA was a natural choice.  Their programs, worldwide, help young people, their families and communities develop active lifestyles. 

The YMCA has suggested I use this tool, Justgiving, to help me reach my goal.  The process is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me.  To convert US dollars to British pounds, I suggest looking at the currency calculator link at www.x-rates.com.  Any amount helps get me to goal!

My training is going well, logging about 40 miles per week, and the only injury so far has been a few blisters on my feet!  Last week's 20 mile run went better than expected, so I'm optimistic that we will finish strong.  

Beyond the monetary support for the YMCA, I appreciate your additional support; good thoughts and prayers have inspired me to finish each and every mile.
