                                   BEN NEVIS

At 1,344 metres, this is Britains highest mountain. Its impressive presence towers over Fort Williams, in Scotland. Every year around 110,000 people walk to the summit.

So why am I doing this???

Some may call me crazy, while others call me mad!...The reason why I want to do this is because  before trekking up Mount Snowdon in 2008, I said to myself that..."If I can do this(ie Snowdon) then I can do Ben Nevis"....and guess what, I did it and loved every moment of it!. For me it was amajor achievement.

As a mother of four, and yes wears the kheemar(head scarf) and jilbaab that didn't stop me from achieving my goal.

We as Muslims should all try to have a more healthy lifestyle and should do some sort of exercise, be it jogging, swimming of even wrapping up your little baby, putting them in the buggy and going for a swift walk in the park.

But after seeing the terrible humanitarian crisis in Gaza, it has had a major effect on me. Watching images of young, innocent babies and children beening pulled out of rubble which was once their home, crying...injured and calling out for their mothers, being rushed to hospital where medical supplies are runnig low just broke my heart. Me just sitting there I placed my hand on the T.V. screen trying to touch their faces, with tears rolling out of my eyes wondering when is this going to stop?...because after all I am a mother and I wouldn't want my child to go through this pain.

More then 250 children have died since this conflict began in December 2008.

I am insh'Allah, going to do a sponsored trek up Ben Nevis in April 2009 between the 15th-19th for the children of Gaza. So please, please, PLEASE support me by donating as much as you can!

And what do I get out of all this? nothing....well almost nothing except I'll burn a few calories while I trek!!!.

This trek was completed on Suday 23rd May 2009 and if you still want to donate you still can.
