UPDATE: So, how did it go you may ask...It was FANTASTIC! The whole day was a blur but I do remember the relief of crossing the finish line. Some Aussie bloke had to guide me to get my photo taken as I couldn't quite work out where or who I was! The race up to around 22 miles was brilliant - I felt fell of enegy and on a high, especially the wonderful moment of crossing Tower Bridge. The crowds at that stage were just incredible. After 22 miles...well...! We has sun, rain, hail, wind...but it didn't matter. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came out to support me and the other runners - it really does make a HUGE difference and keeps you going. I also want to take my hat off to 'Dave' who was wearing only a blue metallic thong...I just hope that copious amounts of Vaseline worked its magic!! Thak you again for all your sponsorship.... Sasha xxxx I can't quite believe I'm doing this to be honest but there is method in my madness (sometimes)! I have now been involved with this charity for over 18 months and I know just what fantastic work they do. Samaritans provides support to all but often to those who have no-where else to turn. It costs around £170 to keep our branch running for a day so you can imagine just how important funds are. I'm running the marathon for myself, but also for all those people who have ever felt the need to call the Samaritans. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - every penny helps (but preferably lots of pounds!!)
Thank you SO much for your sponsorship! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Swindon And District Samaritans will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
