Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the Loch Ness Marathon in memory of my dog sasha who died tragically a year and a half ago. She was the best friend and companion that any person could have ever hoped for and I was absolutely heart broken when she died. Greyhounds have a hard and in most cases tragic lives spending their lives being run into the ground for our entertainment and for people to bet on. But Greyhounds don't just run for sport they literally run for there lives. About 10 to 15 thousand pups are brought into the country every year and most like Sasha who don't make the grade are cast aside by the time they are two, thats not counting the sick and injured dogs who can no longer race either. Most of these poor dogs are destroyed and a lot of them not even humanily, their heartless owners who only see them as a commodity they no longer need cast them aside like rubbish. The even bigger disgrace is that only a handful are rehomed through the few fantastic charities that exist to help these wonderful dogs find a loving home they so deserve.

Greyhounds make fabulous family pets and are a privilege to own, they require very little looking after and are such loving and gentle pets. GAL (Greyhound Awareness League) is a scottish charity that rely on donations to fund their great work of looking after and rehoming ex-racing dogs. Every penny I can raise will help another dog find the home they so deserve and bring so much joy to the people who rescue these dogs. So if you are considering getting a dog then please consider an ex-racing Greyhound as a pet.
So please donate what you can spare and help me raise as much as I can to help these wonderful dogs. Thanks very much.
