Hi everyone, Thanks for visiting my fundraising page . I have decided to take the plunge (literally) and do a skydive for a charity known as BEAT - Beating Eating Disorders. I have always wanted to do a skydive and when BEAT were looking for volunteers I thought why not . Over 1.1 million people in the UK are affected by an eating disorder. It is a very underestimated illness and the destruction it causes to the sufferers life as well as those around them is incredible. Why am I supporting BEAT? Well as some of you know my daughter Zoe has been suffering with an eating disorder. Zoe was diagnosed with anorexia in October 2007 but had been suffering for quite a while before. Zoe is 14 years old and always was, until this cruel illness got a hold of her, a fun loving and a very active teenager. This illness took all the things she loves away, to the point where she was more or less house bound unless she went out in a wheelchair. Zoe has only attended 19% of this school year and has missed out on such a lot of life. Zoe has suffered with depression along with a host of other related issues. The BEAT site has offered us support, information and reassurance and helped us to see we are not alone. Zoe has also received fantastic support from our local team known as CITT (Community Intensive Therapy Team) which is based in St Davids Hospital. We are thankful that through this support Zoe is well on the road of recovery and we truly hope and pray that her future now lies bright before her. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: beat gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.Any amount will be appreciated however big or small, so please sponsor me now! With much love and thanks for your support Sara x x x
