If you are viewing this page, than you already have taken one step towards helping me help others that are less fortunate than ourselves, and for that I thank you.

The obvious question is what is this all about? What am I planning to do? What is the money raised going to?

Well the first question is easy! This page, is part of a large fundraising effort that I have decided to undertake. The challenge is to climb Mt Kilimanjaro (The world's largest free standing mountain at 5863 meters) in Summer next year and all the money raised goes to the VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas).

Now a bit about the VSO.  The VSO works with disadvantaged people in the poorest countries where it can make a significant contribution – in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean and Pacific islands. The VSO targets 6 key areas:  education, HIV & AIDS, disability, secure livelihoods, participation and governance and health and social well-being.

Together with your help, we can all make a difference in these areas..and bring a smile to the faces of those less fortunate than ourselves.

What is the challenge? Well that's the "easy" part. The challenge is to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, the world's largest free standing mountain at 5863 meters. The climb takes place over several days, some parts easy..others not so easy! But the reward is a view, from the highest point in Africa. And the knowledge that every penny raised has gone to help others as part of the VSO mission statement.. In order to do this, each participant must raise at least £2500 in order to undertake this endeavour, and this is where you all come in!

This is an incredible opportunity, not just to scale an incredible mountain (with an equally amazing view from the top) but also to do so while helping others.

I am planning many different benchmark events - a friend of mine suggested (I am sure in a cruel way!) to get an upper body wax done once I hit the £2000 raised mark! So watch this space for any upcoming stunts!

Some of you may wish to donate to see me in the agony of the aforementioned benchmark stunts, some for me to undergo a strenuous training regime, some even to get devoured by a Yeti. Whatever your reason, know that every penny donated will go to make a difference in someone's life.
