My story

 
Thank you for supporting us at this crucial time. The Gorilla Organization celebrated 10 years at our Mt Tshiaberimu project last year and were delighted that the population had increased in that time to 21 gorillas. A unique sub-species, they are under increased threat after the recent rebel attacks which left a conversationist colleague dead and several other injured. Your donation will help us to raise; $15,000/ £8,5000 for staff medical costs and post-traumatic stress treatment over the next 6 months $25,000 / £14,000 for start-up and 6 months operating costs for conflict resolution initiative. We have teamed up with WWF to launch this approach to the communities surrounding Mt Tshiaberimu to encourage dialogue between grass-roots and government. We both have a good deal of experience in this kind of work and, will try to determine win-win solutions for both the people and wildlife. $3,000 / £1,600 for logistical support and emergency co-ordination from the in situ management team based in Kyondo, Goma and Kampala.
