Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Both Jamie (clarinet) and I (flute) have been in the National Children's Orchestra and are now retired. Not only is it a fun memorable experience but it also opens up opportunities for hundreds of talented children who would never normally have the chance to play in a full symphony orchestra. Jamie and I had an amazing time at the courses and were able to perform in fabulous concert venues around the country. Unfortunately the NCO's very existence is under threat due to lack of funds and so we have decided to try and raise some money to help keep it going. We are held a concert on Saturday October 11th 2008, 7pm - 9.30pm in Delamere Park Club house featuring young musicians (current & retired) from the NCO who live in Cheshire. We raised £533 and everyone had a great time. Young musicians from the NCO played at the Groves Bandstand in Chester on Saturday 20th September 2008 2pm-6pm we collected £265 from passersby and got £50 from the council for going to play! On Monday 22nd December 2008 we will be playing in the Grosvenor Shopping Mall, Chester from 10.30am- 4pm with other current & retired NCO musicians from our area. To reach our target, we need as many people as possible to donate on this webpage as soon as posible. It takes just a few minutes,so why wait? Help NCO now!!! Donating through justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. On Saturday August 2nd 2008 Jamie & I played at the Groves Bandstand in Chester and collected £216.19 from the audience & passersby! With the fee of £50 from Chester City council we have raised £266.19.
