Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. The foundation is close to my heart as they have really helped my little Max. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Osteopathy is a fantastic, gentle alternative therapy not usually available via the NHS. Sessions usually cost around £50 a time so a course of treatment can really add up!
The Foundation provides FREE treatment to some really poorly children who might otherwise not get treatment. They aim to treat any child who needs it. They don't receive any government funding so they are totally dependent on donations.
I was running a little to get back in to shape after having Max. Now I find myself running the Wilmslow half marathon & The Great North Run to raise funds for the centre! So I need as much support as I can get!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me via this site now! - It's the simplest way. But if your not happy to do it on line please email me to organise a cheaque; FPOdonation@gmail.com
Many thanks for your support.

2nd Jan
Okay so I've started training. Just 10 mins (about a mile). I'll do a few of them and then need to get to a comfortable 3/4 miles for most of my runs.
14th Jan
I'm up to 4.5 miles now in 45 mins - so about a 10min mile.
20th Jan
Did my first 'long run' today - 55 mins/5.5 miles. That's nothing compared to the next few weeks. I'm dreading Sundays now!
27th Jan
Ran for 1hr 5mins/6.5 miles today. Yipeee, broke the one hour barrier. The sun was shining and I ran along country roads saying hello to the cows & sheep. I could really start to enjoy this.
3rd Feb
Up to 1hr 20mins/8miles now. The 3/4 mile runs during the week feel short and fast, which is a good job because it's hard work going out when it's dark and cold. I have to run either early before Max wakes (I'm not a morning person) or after he's in bed (when I just want to eat dinner & put my pj's on!)
10th Feb
I ran to Tatton park today in 1hr 30mins/9.5miles. Paul met me there and we had strawberry & clotted cream scones with a cup of tea. VERY much deserved.
24th Feb
1hr 50mins/11miles. I ran from Alderley to to my mum & dads in Hazel Grove for Sunday lunch. Nothing like a bit of motivation! I had 2nd servings and pudding!
I've challenged my sister and friend who are running with me to a competition through March to run the most miles for dinner & a BIG cake & a glass of wine while the others have a salad and whatch. We all need a kick up the bum to keep going!
9th March
I got lost today! Ran 1hr 55 mins/12 miles which should have been a circuit similar to the Wilmslow half marathon through Mobberley but I ended up running from Wilmslow to Tatton Park and back through Knutsford! My mobile's broken so I ended up in a pub phoning for a taxi to take me back to my car in Wilmslow. Oh well, at least I know I can run 12 miles!
16th March
Max has been really poorly so I've not been able to get out & I'm in France skiing this week so that will be over 2 weeks without a run. Then I only have a week until Dday. I hope I can still run as far when I get back.
24th March
6 days 'till Dday. Well, I ran 6 miles today & think I've done myself an injury. I can hardly walk. Best take a few days off then I've just got enough days to get a few short runs in to keep mobile. Crickey, it's coming up fast now!
30th March
Well I did it - my first half marathon - 2hrs 14mins. It was a great event. Unfortunately my sister and friend backed out at the last minute because they thought they hadn't trained enough and wouldn't finish. At least my mate Saun was there at the start with me to encourage me before he shot off. Hubby, baby Max and grandma's were at mile 3 to cheer me on. Then the sun came out and my zipper on my jacket was stuck so I struggled through miles 4,5,6 ,7. My cheerleaders were supposed to return for mile 10 but they missed me as they were still in the pub! I forgot to eat my cereal bar which I had always done on long training runs so by mile 11 I was seriously flagging. By the time I got to mile 13 I thought I was going to walk the last 400 yards. I didn't though I kept right on plodding on - I'm super woman! BRING ON THE GREAT NORTH RUN!!
