Story
Shrewton Cricket Club is a Village Club in the Wiltshire just 2 miles from Stonehenge. We have three adult league sides which play in the Hampshire Cricket League a Sunday Friendly side, a midweek side and three Junior sides.
We currently play at the recreation ground in the village which we share with many other users meaning we cant always play home games when they are scheduled. Also the quality of the playing surface is not ideal as there is football on the outfield during the winter making it sometimes dangerous.
With these limitiations it means that the club can not progress any further in the league structure and with alot of good young talent coming through the club this will be the only barrier to the club being promoted to the southern league in the next few years.
We have secured a new site for a new ground in the village and we now have the daunting task of rasing the money needed to erect a pavilion and lay a square.
With this in mind 12 members of the club are embarking on the 100 mile trip to Lords in September this year to eventually watch the CB40 final (weather permitting). The twist is we are walking every last mile of it to raise money for the new ground.
We already have a few partners in the MCC who have donated tickets for the final. Plus local radio station spire fm who are backing us all the way.
We would be greatful for every last penny you can offer as it will help so many people of all ages get to play cricket somewhere they can enjoy and call there own
