We provide free veterinary care to the working and other animals of Luxor

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I hope you will consider helping me raise funds to participate in an incredible two-week clinical experience at Animal Care of Egypt (ACE) in March of this year!

ACE is a charity organization which started as providing a place for the people of Luxor, Egypt to clean their hard-working pack animals.  In addition, ACE now provides free veterinary care and offers educational programs aimed at preventing welfare-related injuries.

Volunteering at ACE will give me an amazing opportunity to further my practical veterinary skills while helping a very worthwhile project. I'll be working mostly with donkeys & horses, but may also come across a needy dog, cat, camel, or water buffalo!

Please be assured that any funds you donate will go straight to ACE to help cover the cost of running the program, like medicines, feed, and equipment, as well as towards providing me a place to stay.  Any amount you can give is deeply appreciated!

Thank you,

Jenny

P.S. One note - the JustGiving site accepts donations in British pounds, which you can make via any major credit or debit card. The pound is worth about $1.55 right now, so a 20 pound donation is about $31.  This handy currency converter may be of help.

A blurb from ACE's website on how your funds are put to use:

"ACE is completely funded by voluntary donation and they need your help to continue this vital work.

£10 - pays for a horse or donkey's sores to be cared for whilst at our treatment centre.

£20  - pays for the essential anaesthetic needed to operate on an injured horse or donkey.

£45 - pays for 80 children to visit our education centre and learn essential basics of animal care.

£70  - will pay to feed ALL our in-patients and residents for the day.  (That's 25 stables, sometimes being shared, and up to 30 small animals).

£150 - pays for the milk to wean a baby foal that has lost its mother and will give it a chance of life.

£200 - pays for a fully trained local vet for a whole month, who will treat hundreds of animals during that time."
