My name is Samuel Wightman; on the 29th May 2008 I will be 28 years old. It was at this young age that my mum, Anne Wightman, tragically lost her fight for life to stomach cancer on the 15th June 1988.
Being so young at the time and not fully understanding exactly what was going on with my mothers illness, it is now that I'm reaching the age of 28 and feel fit and healthy I realise she was so young and that there are lots of people on the world that are not as fortunate. With this in mind it is my aim to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK with the hope that maybe I will be a part of preventing others families going through what mine had to.
The main charity event will be "Scoot to Africa", which will entail us travelling from Scotland to Morocco and back again on scooters. This event will begin on the 2nd June 2008 and should take approximately 20 days.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
