In memory of my late wife Maz

On 21st July, I will be completing a 100 mile cycle ride from Slepe Hall Hotel in St Ives, Cambridgeshire (where we were married), to Metheringham Primary School, Lincolnshire (where both our daughters have attended).

Maz was diagnosed with cancer in August 2010. She lost her life on 18 Dec 2010, aged 35.

Maz wanted to stay at home throughout her illness, and with help from her GP and community nurses, this was achieved.

However, this only covered normal day hours. It was then that Marie Curie helped us to maintain Maz’s wishes.

Without their support, Maz would have had to be moved into a hospice or hospital.

Being at home meant that our 2 young daughters could still spend quality time with her, and helped to keep a degree of normality to all our lives.
