For the past couple of years I have supported various charities when running/cycling and normally I tend to select the nominated charity of the event such as Action Medical research,  Devonshire Air Ambulance etc. However earlier this year my uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer which was a great concern to me and the family. Fortunately it had been caught early enough to do something about and soon after diagnosis he was able to have the tumour removed. His recovery is coming along nicely.

 

I hope to raise money for Prostate cancer uk for people like my uncle and those not as fortunate to catch it early. As well as raising the sponsorship funding I aim to raise general awareness of prostate cancer and mens health issues in general and the importance of getting regular health checks. This November for the first time I'm taking part in Movember to start raising the awareness with friends, colleagues and team mates.

 

The other motivation is  more of a person life ambition of wanting to run the London marathon and get a coveted finishers medal.
