The Mazda London Triathlon 2009 · 1 August 2009 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello there!... Me again!

Last year I completed the London Sprint Triathlon for Cancer Research … I’m upping the anti this year and having a crack at the Olympic Distance! In the process I’m hoping to raise some money for another great charity, The Stroke Association.

The Olympic Distances include a 1.5km dip in the Thames, a leisurely 40km cycle, and a 10km saunter to finish, all around Canary Wharf… as long as I start before midday, I’m confident I’ll be safely around by nightfall.

Details of the event can be found at www.thelondontriathlon.com If anyone fancies watching, it’s a wicked venue, extremely well organised and the Transition and Finish are indoors, making it a great place to watch, take the p*ss etc etc! The cheering section was rather modest last year so do feel free to come along!!

For this event, I’m hoping to raise £500 for the Stroke Association. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition, with a quarter of a million people living with long-term disability as a result of strokes. The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now... times are tough but the more you give, the better you'll feel!

Thanks for visiting, love to you all!!

Scott.
