My name is Hannah Jones and I am 16 years old.  In August 2008 I was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour. I have had 3 operations, 6 weeks of radiotherapy and over 12 months of chemotherapy.  Following my 3rd operation I had a stroke, which left me with left-sided weakness.  It's not stopped me from enjoying my life.  I've had some low times, but I've also had some amazing experiences over these past 12 months. 

Not long after I was diagnosed, I discovered that less than 1% of cancer research funding goes on brain tumour research, so I decided to set up an Umbrella Fund with the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.  Samantha died of a brain tumour on 31st October 1996, just six days before her 17th birthday.  Since 1996, the Trust has become the largest brain tumour charity in the UK, with the highest level of laboratory based childhood and adult brain tumour research in the country.
