Women are still getting breast cancer and dying from it. That’s why Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer have joined forces to become the UK’s largest dedicated breast cancer research charity. And with your help, together we can put an end to breast cancer, once and for all.

Story

<p><span style="font-size: small;">On Sunday 22nd April 2012 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign and t</span><span style="font-size: small;">his date is virtually 12 months to the day that my gorgeous wife, Joanne, discovered a lump in her breast.<br><br></span><span style="font-size: small;">After numerous tests, mamograms and biopsies Joanne was diagnosed with Grade 1 invasive Breast Cancer on Thursday 23rd June.<br><br></span><span style="font-size: small;">On Monday 27th June (only 4 days after diagnosis) Joanne underwent a full mastectomy and partial lymph node removal.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: small;"><br>After a few nervous weeks we received some fantastic news. Joanne's results gave her only a 10% chance of the cancer returning and after 6 chemotherapy sessions, 15 days of radiotherapy and a course of tamoxifen this will reduce the risk to only 4%, which is less than the national statistic.<br></span><span style="color: #e6158c; font-size: small;"><strong><br>A message to all the women who read this...&nbsp;</strong></span><strong><span style="font-size: small;">Do me one favour (apart from sponsoring me).
