Thank you for your donation to Action Cancer, we are grateful, with your help, to continue to offer our life-saving early cancer detection and support services here in N Ireland to 15,000 people every year! We deliver our services from Belfast and on board our Big Bus.All money raised stays in NI.

I will be running 2 half marathons, 2 full marathons and taking part in an overseas trek in Tanzania.</p> <p>In November 2011 I will be running in the New York Marathon. I will be putting my body through the pain of running 26 and a half miles to raise money for Action Cancer</p> <p>Action Cancer is the only charity that provides breast screening services for ladies aged 40-49 and over 70 (these services are not provided to ladies in these eage brackets by the NHS). The Health promotion department provides MOT health checks for males and females as well as recently launching their "Why Weight?" programme. They also provide programmes to schools and community checks.&nbsp;For people who have been affected by cancer, Action Cancer&nbsp;provides complementary therapies, counseling for adults and young people and listening ear.</p> <p>The Action Cancer BIG BUS is a state of the art mobile screening unit that travels to over 200 locations across the country each year providing breast screening, health checks and the new why weight programme. Each month Action Cancer detects 8 cancers through the BIG BUS and the screening service at action Cancer House in Belfast.</p> <p>Action Cancer receives no funding from the government, the charity needs to raise &pound;3.5million each year to keep its services running. Fundraising events such as the Treks and Marathons help the charity raise these funds and continue to save lives and support people.</p> <p>Myself and my family have availed of the excellent services the charity provides. Having lost both my father and my sister to cancer, Action Cancer has helped us through their support services and working with the charity has opened my eyes to the excellent work that they do to help others through their services. Detecting 8 cancers each month helps saves peoples lives and supports others have been affected by cancer.</p> <p>I would really appreciate your help&nbsp;to raise the &pound;3100 to take part in this trek and marathons&nbsp;and help the charity continue their excellent work!</p> <p><br />Cheers</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Se&aacute;n :-)</p>
