The Chris Lucas Trust helps Children and Young Adults by Cancer Research and aims to find a cure for Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer by world-class research. It is the UK's leading Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer charity. Its funds are raised by annual events: Great North Bike Ride, Jingle Bell Walk, Charity Golf, remainder entirely through voluntary donations.

Story

On the 30th August 2009 I am doing I sponsored bike ride to raise money for a charity called "The Chris Lucas Trust". The bike ride starts at Seahouses and ends approximately 60 miles later in Tynemouth in Newcastle.  Every penny I raise goes towards finding a cure for a rare type of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is most common in children and young adults.  The charity is very close to my heart as it is run by Lynn and Lynn Lucas, the parents of my close mate and business partner Dave.

Lynn and Lynn lost their son Christopher Lucas to the disease 9 years ago on the 15th July 2000 after three long years of battling the aggressive disease.  Since then have dedicated their lives to running this charity, which raises thousands of pounds every year.

A small group of Christopher's close friends started the bike ride off the year that he died, and it has grown from there. The well known event occurs every year and has grown drastically from the 6 people who started it all.  Last year saw around 1500 people complete the ride and raised a considerable amount.

I would be very grateful for any donation that you can make and every penny goes straight to the charity and will be a massive help in finding a cure for this tragic and aggressive disease.

Thanks

Sean
