Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.

Story

10th November 2012

Well.. I had the operation a week before I was due to do the walk.. My heart has been re wired! and to be honest it is an amazing feeling.. I don't check my pulse 100 times a day anymore.. Now I know its beating... My right lung is out of action for the time being.. it will recover, but its taking its time.,, You can still donate on this page if u want, or to my other page for the make a wish foundation.. All the money that was donated before has already been paid to The Everyman male cancer charity.

I am going to do the london to Brighton Challenge in place of the death valley walk. But I'm doing it for two charities, Everyman and Make a wish... the other page is www.justgiving.com/seanthecameraman2

Thankyou for bearing with me.. walking 100km with one lung will be every bit as hard as Death Valley I'm sure!

Unforetunatley after a couple more heart scares the doctors have said I'm asking for trouble crossing the desert. Basically the heat may be too much on top of the excercise for my old ticker.. Properly gutted. I'm now looking for a huge challenge, but somewhere cooler! Cheers.. Sean

Wow! Thank you all sooo much! I did an hr an a half run/walk two days ago.. Been pretty sore, not run for a while! on way to Ibiza for MTV today.. Will have another session there. I'm really stoked to be doing this.. Thanx again.. Sean

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Here I go again!

On the 17th of August 2012 at 6am in the morning, I will attempt to walk/run 135 miles non stop Across Death valley in California, finishing near the top of Mount Whitney(the US's highest mountain) in Memory of Ed Forsdick, who tragically died from testicular cancer this year.

135 miles, uphill, 50+ degrees, non stop, Rattle snakes, Bears... an I have a heart condition!  mmm.. sounds like fun??

My target is to raise £100 a mile.. it's a huge challenge.. but worthwile.

I'm so not fit enough to do this.. so will have to train a fair bit! but how do u train to walk/run 135 miles uphill non stop for nearly 3 days? I'll have to be fit, but most of all I think it's as much about attitude.. I aim to do it in 2.5 days.. it may take me 5.. but I will do it..

I jus completed 165 miles on a surfboard accross the UK from Bristol to London.. I know I have the determination.. but this is a huge challenge.. but in compararison to battling any form of cancer this is nothing.. please help me reach my target and help others..

If ur a man, do yourself a favour and go to the everyman site.. an do the self examination.. it could save ur life.. http://www.everyman-campaign.org/Testicular_Cancer/Testicular_cancer_self_examination/index.shtml and tell ur friends to do the same...

Things I'm going to do as training..

mainly walk a lot! run a fair bit!

The 3 peaks challenge, and paddle across Scotland on a surfboard too.. Fortwilliam to Inverness.. and a week or so walking with my dad on the Camino in France/Spain. (He's walking/running the 850 miles! an he's nearly 80! yeah, I think I take after my dad! lol)

Thanx so much for taking the time and donating.. Its a long way off, but I reckon it'll be no time at all till I'm stood in the desert, wondering what on earth am I doing!

cheers

Sean

I will start a facebook page as I did last time..

(29th of August 2011 - I just started this page, it's not public yet.. I'm in process of building it still.. cheers, Sean)
